Wk: 14 Reflection Of language Arts and Technology and New Literacies.


Semester Reflection:
Syllabus:
I examine national and state English/Language Arts standards related to listening, speaking, reading, writing, and visual communication. I explored methods, materials, and resources appropriate for cultural, ethnic, and diverse learning styles of all learners to meet the language arts and reading standards. I how to applied research-based effective practices for assessing learner progress and for using technology to improve reading, writing, and communication.

Work Produced:
I have participated in individual and collaborative hands-on activities. Such as discussion board reflections. I've created a Language arts e-blogger and e-portfolio — additionally, a UDL book, a digital story using VoiceThread. I also worked with an ELA teacher to design and implement a lesson fully integrated with technology. Also, I engage in productive peer to peer conversation. Overall, this semester was great. Lastly, I would like to thank Dr. Hsu for her endless enthusiasm for her students and the passion she has for technology. She understands what's it like to be a student and a busy professional at the same time.

WK: 12 Analysis of educational “affordances” on glogster

Globster is a web 2.0 tool, which allows users to create and design multimedia posters. Additionally, Globster is used to facilitate interactive information sharing and peer collaboration in a digital environment. In the ELA classroom, students can use Globster to summarize books they've read an present their Globster to their class. Moreover, using Globster also allows students to build upon their knowledge and present their learning. Lastly, Globster supports different learning styles and supports the development of new literacy skills.

Wk:11 VoiceThread Reflection

VoiceThread used general education classrooms with students who are at risk or students with disabilities; to support their learning needs. Moreover, using VoiceThread allows teachers to adjust activities to meet students needs. Also, VoiceThread will enable students to collaborate with peers and to work at their own pace. VoiceThread facilitates interactive writing between students' and teachers. Additionally, VoiceThread helps students develop confidence as learners by presenting their work and receiving feedback from their peers. Furthermore,VoiceThread can be used to create movie summaries to strengthen comprehension skills. Lastly, students can participate in digital discussions using VoiceThread to post their comments. Using VoiceThread in the classroom can increase student motivation and engagement.
