Students will identify the type of noun on
Turtle Diary.

This is a racing game. The racing cars run on
the power of your correct answers. The speed of your car increases when you
answer correctly. The faster you answer, the faster your car goes! In case you
answer incorrectly, your speed will decrease. The player who answers correctly
with speed will win the race.

Assessment:
Students will be assessed the amount of correct answers,
they received by the end of the game.
Debriefing:
In this lesson’s students learned to identify what type of
noun is the given word. E.g. collective noun, common noun, gerund noun, proper
noun. This game gave students a challenge as well as elements of fantasy. This
game helps students to learn the different nouns which are a part of speech
used in traditional language.
What cognitive skills
do this game help to cultivate? This game helps to cultivate attention, and
visual processing. In addition, this game helps students to mentally visualize
a concept.
What new literacies
skills do this game help to cultivate?
This game helps students to cultivate computer-operating
skills. In addition, students leaned about the different types of nouns; which are
parts of speech. The concept of new literacies does not change in the skills required
for literacy but adds a new dimension to the elements of literacy. (Leu et

Literacy Panel, 2007).
